This is Tyler, he is a friend of ours kid. His dad is in the middle of his second stint in Afghanistan.
Tyler went one day during youth season, but we never even saw a bird.
Now after some begging his mom decided he could cut school one day and turkey hunt. We picked Thursday because the weatherman said it would be good turkey hunting weather, and Tyler had a Choir Competition on Friday.
I roosted some birds Wednesday night. I did not know it but we ended up getting within 30 yards of the roost tree. I figured those crazy birds would go a little farther in the woods to sleep.
When this bird first gobbled we just about jumped out of our skin. I called him down in the field, and Tyler shot him at 6:20, which left plenty of time for him to make school. Bummer
