I went to Iowa friday, for thier youth season, to take my buddy, Brody, out for his first bird. We've been chasing them for 3 yrs now, and finally had some luck!!! The Double Bull blind really helped a bunch!!! Had the deke's at 4yds, he killed the Tom at 5yds!!! Notice the copper coloring on this birds secondary wing feathers. We've taken a few birds from this same flock thru the years with similar coloring. Really pretty bird!!! Here's a few pics!!!

The "set up". I set the decoys so close due to the terrain. This ridge falls off so quickly in front of us, that when you do see a bird, it's in 20ga range...20-25yds! So, I set the dekes at 4yds. It worked!! Just one hen, and a standing jake.

A really MOUTHY hen came to visit, early in the hunt, and again about 30 minutes later. She came to 8yds.
