I am glad to see that this great site is starting to see a little more traffic. Now if we can get the lurkers to jump in even if it's just to say Hi or be a cheerleader for others it'll grow faster...

Folks this is our state and we are neighbors even those from Swampeast Missouri are included..lol Don't get me wrong, I love being from Swampeast Missouri, this far or further..lol J/K at least a little. I did spend a great number of my growing up years there. I've done my share of chopping and picking cotton so now I know... I'd rather ron gas stations that have to go back and do it again..lol

God bless... us all!!

Now jump in here like you belong... because you do!

Thanks for reading, now write something even if it's wrong...lol

OK! Maybe not so much but I will keep trying because I think this is a good site and could amount to a great tool for Missouri bowhunters (traditional bowhunters especially)

Wake up!!!!!!!!!! Come on folks let's get to posting on our site!! Getting you guys to type something,... anything is like pulling chickens teeth..lol

I want to hear from other parts of our state, especially if you have hogs in your neighborhood.

I have tried for a few years now and made several trips to try and find these mythical hogs. Do we really have a hog problem or are our legs getting pulled by some mean spirited people who just like to see us get out hopes up?

God bless,Mudd

PS: I see where there and been a few readers on this thread so might I please ask that you speak up even if it's just a "hey".

Mudd, there's a bunch of hogs over in Texas county around the Big Piney River. My cousin, who lives over there, has killed several with a rifle and a couple with a bow. His friend killed a big boar a few years ago with his bow. It weighed around 350 lbs and had 4 inch tusks.

Like most wild hogs, they come and go depending on food source and who's messing with them. There's about a billion acres of land to hunt in the Paddy Creek Wilderness area over there. My cousin usually finds where they've been feeding and then starts chumming them up with corn. I've seen a field or two where a bunch of them had started rooting. Looks like somebody turned loose a pack of backhoes.

I found that down by Ft Wood once but never saw a pig.

I found out that the guys down there would send one person up in an ultralite and they would fly around and find the hogs and call the folks on the gound.

I should get so lucky as to find someone who could do that for me..lol

God bless,Mudd

I've hunted around Licking and another town in that area called Hartshorn, if they got hogs down there it would pretty tough finding them. That is some ROUGH terrain.

They are destructive. They are fun to hunt but they compete with the dear and turkey and will eat anything including other small manuals and birds
