2010 Commitment to hard headedness..!

For three spring Turkey seasons I have attempted to bow kill a Tom without using a blind. 12 gaging a bird or using a blind would leave me without any good stories to tell... :D I will admit to being a bit hard headed at times. I came close to getting this done two different seasons. I had a bird see my last 1/2" of draw and left the county and then all worked out on a different bird except that little twig jumped out in front of a perfectly placed killing shot on a bird not fifteen steps away... :):)

With renewed vigor I and my Shaggie are going to chase birds again in a couple weeks without a blind... I will update for sure if a miracle in the Turkey woods happens.

My last year a few years ago sitting in a blind. I hope to never do it again for Turkeys.. But then again I've not killed a bird since... LOL

One week...!

My camo has been checked... My decoys are ready... Even my shooting is surprisingly good.. My Zwickeys will be scary sharp Sunday night...

Change of plans.. All yard work today but it is finished..

I am bird hunting in the morning... Another year to try and make this happen.

I hit the alarm too many times this morning...:):)

I did make it to the turkey woods but the birds were busy someplace else. I will make it on time in the moring.. LOL

Snuck in mouse quiet in the dark (5:30) early this morning.. Had two deer feed in close and also had a bird cutting my calls.. He would not cross the creek/fence and come in.. Too much brush for me to see this bird.

Maybe he had birds or just didn't "feel" like coming.. ONE of these mornings things will work out...

I work the next few days but will get to the woods if possible... If this was easy I would NOT be having so much fun...!! My longbow turkey adventures turn into superb deer scouting trips on the way out... Come on Sept. 15...

Work and rain in the way.. More hardheadedness as I am bowhunting birds in the morning unless there is lightning and thunder storms.... LOL

Light rain is alright,, I can't kill a bird in the house...
