View Full Version : Underutilized
Our web site has to be one of the most underutilized places on the web. It is my opinion and mine alone that we are missing out on an opportunity here. It's a place that we can uniquely communicate with other like-minded Missourians.
Here's a chance for us to get to know something about each other within the comfort of our own space where ever that happens to be.
I check this site daily only to find there's not much going on. The pulse is very weak at best. I say if its dead then let's bury it..lol

I agree, Mudd! I wish more people would use the site. I see several of our UBM members posting on TradGang and LeatherWall that never post anything here. But, whatcha gonna do? I try to keep the UBM news up to date here so folks will at least check the site for that. But I also have a day job and family so I don't always have time to keep things "fresh".
Good luck in the turkey woods!
Darren
I know you do your part Darren. It looks like we need to educate the others. Maybe an article in the magazine promoting this place?

I agree there is not enough traffic here. I am guilty as well of not coming here enough...
I am going to email Brian with a couple questions.. If given the go ahead I am going to start a few new threads.
Happy Easter to all.

John....depending on what your threads are, you may want to get with Darren, so he can set up a new forum.

I know I'm guilty of checking it at least daily but post very little. I'll try to do better!

I also check this frequently, but not daily, and do not start any posts. There are probably a number of us that do the same. Let's see if we can generate some interst by posting more stuff ourselves about bowhunting, tackle items, whatever and get the word out.
There has to be more stuff in our lives regarding UBM than the festival and rendezvous(which will be coming up soon)

I have volunteered to help with the website. I have added shoots, and events to the calendar, on top of the forums that I could find from the newsletter. If you have any shoots or events, you want posted in the calendar, let me know.
This is your site, and this has been asked before, but what sub-forums would you like to see.
I would like to see:
How To - Resources
A forum dedicated for "how to" segments submitted by members. Includes unique, basic, and interesting tasks, for making/repairing archery equipment.
Let's hear your ideas :)
We already have this sub-forum, "Tales From The 2009-2010 Season". A forum dedicated to the highlights of your season through photography. Accompanied by a short story of species ( small and large game, fish, frogs, etc ), location, and equipment. LET'S USE IT, I enjoy seeing these.

One reason maybe that when you ask a question, it takes two weeks to get a reply.

Neven...can't disagree with your point. We are working on keeping the calendar and events updated. I need anyone with shoots and events dates info, to PM me the information, so it can be posted before hand.
An event could be, a group of UBM members are having a Rabbit Hunt, a Fish Shoot, and want to invite other members to join in on the fun. Again, PM me the info before hand, and I will post it in the calendar.
I have already posted shoots and events in the forums calendar, keep checking the calendar, and if you don't see the info about something you are interested in, PM me and I will do my best to get it posted. Excuse me if I'm repeating myself, it's an old-timer's thing :)
Let's all take a look at the UBM Website Stats, Members: 56, Active Members: 19.
I would guess, from what I have noticed on the BIG websites, that only a small percentage of the people, signed up as a member, are using those sites. But they have membership in the thousands, so they have a constant flow of activity. I have noticed some are slowing down.
The UBM has around 300 members, not many have signed up to use this website
OK, let's get the word out about the site, and let's "ALL" make this site what you want it to be

I haven’t checked the site for a while and I’m guilty as charged Mudd. It is great to have this available to us and to have the ability to talk with our buds all over Missouri. One thing I would like is to know is how the poll came out.

The "POLL" will run til April 30, 2010. Results will be posted shortly after.
I'm glad to see you folks reply. We have such a wonderful tool here to reach out to other bowhunters across our state.
Nobody knows Missouri like the ones that live here and I for one am willing to share anything I think I know about my part of it. I have all kinds of public land around me both state and federal. There isn't any shortage of game here either.
I've heard for years about a pig problem in Missouri but haven't seen anything but some tracks. I figure I don't know what I'm doing and certainly don't know the area where they are supposed to be.
I have asked many times and in many places for assistance in putting together a hunt where there's a chance of seeing a hog but never got any helpful answers.
Dang! I do get wound up...lol
God bless,Mudd
