Call To Order:  7:40 pm

--Old Business--

 

Secretaries Report—Brian Peterson.  Accepted as written and published in Newsletter.

 

Treasurer’s Report—Dan Novotny noted that the account balance stands at $23,314.28.

           

Discussion about the Land Trust—decided that it should be rolled over into general funds as the dream of purchasing land and maintaining it isn’t feasible at this time (remove ‘check’ box on renewal cards).  Discussion about taking Land Trust amount and donating to worthy cause.

 

Executive Secretaries Report—Brenda Hudson.  UBM has approximately 300 members.  We need to go through lists and set aside deceased members.

 

It is noted that approximately 1/3 of membership are Life Members.  We need to reinvest ‘dues’ to CD or similar to sustain membership.

 

Getting better on forwarding addresses and address corrections.

 

Newletter—350 issues printed, saving some ‘back issues’ for giving at functions.  Printing costs less than $1,000.

 

Festival Recap 2009—Approximately 200 attended banquet

 

NABC Report—Tom Dickerson and Brian Peterson.  A quick review of discussions including how to protect your club financially, Hunter Ed updates, and crossbow issues.

 

Chillicothe Deer Classic—Well attended and worth doing again in 2010.

 

Woods Event—Nursing homes night out to experience outdoor skills.  UBM does the archery portion; partnered with MODOC.  Consider district involvement with similar venues.

 

--New Business—

 

New board members—Dennis Voss and Darren Haverstick.  Brian Peterson re-elected.  Many thanks to Chris Rackley and Ron Mackenburg who leave the board.

 

New Officers—Brian Peterson president, Darren Haverstick vice president, Dan Novotny treasurer, Dennis Voss secretary, Jeff Scott MDC representative, Scott Hesterly public relations, Tom Dickerson Bowhunter Ed.

 

Deaf Camp—August 8th-9th 2009 at bou scout camp in Osceola, MO.  Dennis Voss coordinator.  Need bows and arrows.  Larry Hudson to follow up on kids bows in the 10-15 lb range.

 

Franklin County Hunting and Fishing Expo—August 22nd-23rd, 1009.  John Banderman coordinator.

 

Shriner’s Hand Camp—September 5th-6th, 2009 in Potosi, MO. 

 

UBM Website—investigate a storefront for registrations and memberships.

 

Banquet—February 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2010 at the Truman Hotel, Jefferson City, MO.

 

Festival Chair—Brian Peterson, Tom Dickerson

 

Committees:

 

Speakers (Seminar and Key Note):  Darren Haverstick.

 

            Have Robin Parks (Aim Low Productions) for 2010

            Gary and Connie Renfrow for 2011.

            Roger Rothaar for seminar.

            Reinstall the Friday night seminar slot?

 

Bow, arrow, and auction item donations:  Ron and Regina Mackenburg

 

Hunt donations:  Entire board.  Need info ASAP.

 

Vendor area:  Dennis Voss.  List donations from vendors.  Donation value equals table space—as per last meetings minutes.

 

Photo Contest:  Todd Goodmam

 

Trophy display:  Brian Peterson and Rob Skaggs.

 

Publicity:  Scott Hesterly.  Add for Bowhunter Magazine due in August.

 

Auctioneers:  Mike Clark.  Said he will do it as long as he is alive.

 

Awards:  Solicit nominations throughout year.

 

NASP Tournament—Definitely need help with setup.  First weekend in March

 

Donation to Pope & Young Museum—Consider $250 donation for Silver Level recognition on plaque.

 

CFM—Feb. 27th-Mar 1st, 2010 Lodge of the Four Season’s at Lake of the Ozarks.  Need attendees from UBM. 

 

Obituaries—Dr. Grayson and Sonya Hesterly remembered.

 

Chillicothe Deer Classic—Vote to do in 2010.

 

Third Annual Greater Ozark Mountain Squirrel Hunt—December 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2009 at Brian Peterson’s Brushy Mountain Ranch in Cedarcreek, MO.

 

Next meeting scheduled for first weekend in December 6th, 2009
